Do you have a community project needing funding - Stronger Country Communities Fund

Murrumbidgee Council is calling on community and sporting organisations to provide details on projects they would like included in applications for Round 3 of the NSW Government’s Stronger Country Communities Fund (SCCF).

Murrumbidgee Mayor Ruth McRae said the Council would like to hear from local organisations who have a project they would like to implement.

Cr McRae said this round will have an emphasis on youth-related projects, with 50 per cent of funding being allocated for 12-24 year olds.

“Projects may include developing new or upgrading existing infrastructure for young people or the general community,” Cr McRae said.

“They may also be for capital works related to street beautification and other public places that promote the health, happiness and well-being of the community; for programs that benefit the local community; or for infrastructure to assist with the delivery of general community programs,” she said.

“Each project must seek grant funding of $50,000 or more.

Cr McRae added we have a diverse range of community and sporting organisations across our area and are hoping to hear of a range of exciting projects that are on their wish-list.

If your organisation would like to be considered in Council’s applications for the Stronger Country Communities Fund, please email Council on with details on the project name, detailed description and plan, a clear and detailed budget and a plan of how data will be collected to evaluate the project. This information is required by 9 August 2019.
