NSW Government Stronger Country Communities Fund

Round 5

The NSW Government Stronger Country Communities Fund (SCCF) Round 5 will see a further $160 million in funding for community projects that increase the wellbeing of regional NSW communities, including up to $50 million for projects delivered by community organisations. The program is delivered by the Department of Regional NSW.
 
Projects must be for infrastructure or community programs that boost the wellbeing of regional areas through improved amenity and positive social outcomes. Funding is available for local community and sporting infrastructure, street beautification, projects enhancing accessibility and inclusion for people with disability, projects improving outcomes for Aboriginal people, and community programs and local events.
 
There is $395,729 allocated to the Murrumbidgee Local Government Area, specifically for community groups to apply. 
 
Main points for the grant:

  • Minimum of $100,000 for the community project/application
  • Potential applicants should liaise with Murrumbidgee Council Economic and Tourism Development Manager, Kellie Dissegna on 1300 676 243 or email kellied@murrumbidgee.nsw.gov.au , as well as NSW Government Business Development Manager, Patricia Wilkinson about their proposed project.
  • Murrumbidgee Council is able to write Letters of Support for applications from Community Group. If your proposed project is located on Council land, you will need a recent written letter confirming that Council approves your project. Round 4 (announced December 2021)

  • $148,000 to revamp the Coleambally Golf Club Revamp toilet facilities
  • $51,000 to replace old vinyl flooring at the Tirkandi Aboriginal Youth Residence
  • $70,000 to upgrade Coleambally Youth Hall and create unisex facilities with a baby change area together with the construction of additional storage area with external access.
  • $348,930 towards providing public amenities for Adrian Douglas Park, Darlington Point
  • $156,500 for the Intergenerational Stories and Community Garden Project by Waddi Cultural and Heritage Centre
  • $750,000 for Monash Park netball precinct to renovate and upgrade the current grandstand and construct new change rooms and amenities

Stronger Communities Fund

The Stronger Communities Fund has been established by the NSW Government to provide councils with funding to kick start the delivery of projects that improve community infrastructure and services.
