Darlington Point Spring Festival a great success

Darlington Point was abuzz on Saturday with visitors and locals enjoying the beautiful weather and great range of activities at the Spring Festival.

Murrumbidgee Council’s Manager of Corporate & Community Services Sue Mitchell said there was a wonderful atmosphere on the day with live music and food, craft and produce from over 40 stalls.

Mrs Mitchell said the train rides, hosted by Leeton Lions Club, were as popular as ever with the train taking passengers for a picturesque ride around town.

“The car display was also very popular with cars and bikes on show from the Expatriates Auto Club. A people’s choice vote determined the ten most popular cars on the day”, Mrs Mitchell said.

“There was also a great range of entertainment for the children, including show bags, sand art and a jumping castle.

“The Darlington Point Townlife raffled a number of terrific prizes on the day. Proceeds will go towards local projects, particularly the Goanna Walking Track,” she said.

“As always our local businesses were extremely generous in supporting the raffle. Thank you to Daisy Lodge, Websters Limited, Freedom Rural, Saxvik Honey and Pollination Service, Gina Wiseman and the Darlington Point Post Office for your generosity.

Mrs Mitchell thanked all the Spring Fair Committee for their enthusiasm in organising such a wonderful event, as well as the stall holders for their support.
