Paint Pouring Workshop with Sos Hawkins
CALLING FOR ARTISTS & ASPIRING ARTISTS
All welcome to come to a one off, Paint Pouring workshop with Sos Hawkins!
Date: Sunday May 5, 2019
Time: 9am to 5pm
Location: Racecourse and Tea Room.
Cost: $160.00 for workshop and all materials
BYO food and drinks.
Ages 16 years plus and only 16 place available.
Application and payment via Murrumbidgee Council Offices (please note full payment is required to confirm spot at workshop)
Sos will run an 8 hour workshop which will include working with participants to create an art piece which they will include in the student component of the Show and Shine Art exhibition. This will include activities like colour mixing, paint pouring and completing a piece of work.
Sos is a Barkindji woman, whose art has been greatly influenced by her connection to her cultural heritage. Sos has worked professionally has an artist for many years. Within this time she has worked in the materials of ceramics and painting. She has had work displayed in exhibitions locally and nationally. Sos has sold her work locally, nationally and internationally.

Darlington Point Museum Open Day 2019
Held in conjuntion with the National Trust Heritage Festival, this year's theme will be 'Connecting People, Places and the Past' which provides a great opportunity to stroll down memory lane.
People in the Past: A display recalling youth, childhood and schooldays.
Uniting Church Time Capsule: Items from the church centenary held December 1993 and exhumed in December 2018.
Darlington Point Sunshine Club: 58 years of memorabilia, including photographs of community events.Stories from the Past, in Verse: A presentation by award-winning local poet Carolyn Tuohey will take place at 11 a.m.
Light refreshments will be available.

NSW Aboriginal Cultural Tourism Experience Development Workshop - Wagga Wagga
Destination NSW is holding a series of Aboriginal Cultural Tourism Experience Development Workshops in partnership with the NSW Aboriginal Tourism Operators Council (NATOC). The goal of the new experience development workshops is for aspiring Aboriginal tourism operators to gain a greater understanding of the tourism sector and access to services to further develop their businesses.

Ian Sneddon Two Rivers Run - Jerilderie
Great tractor trekking event over several days with social events. This event was established as a fund raiser to support men's health in rural areas and this year the event will be focussed on Motor Neuron Disease (MND). The trek will commence on Saturday 18 May in Corowa and end on Sunday 26 May in Corowa, but will travel through the southern Riverina.
On Monday 20th May it will travel from Berrigan to Jerilderie and stay overnight at the Jerilderie Racecourse, so come and wave the tractors on!!
The trek will head to Coleambally on Tuesday 21.

Sir John Monash Dinner & Lecture
This years event will see guest speaker Michael Bennett present. Michael is a consultant director with Escient, an Australian digital and business advisory firm, and board member of the Spirit of Australia Foundation.
He leads and delivers consulting services to organisations in the telecommunications, banking & finance, government, education and health sectors. He holds a BSc from Monash University and a Master of Management from the University of Melbourne.
Michael is a member of the General Sir John Monash Foundation, and Chairman of their Scholarships Selection Panel in Victoria. The John Monash Scholarships are Australia’s own postgraduate scholarships, with the aim to foster leadership, expertise and build Australia’s capabilities for the future.
