Revenue Officer

The organisation has an exciting career opportunity for an energetic and capable as Revenue Officer to provide financial and administrative support to the Finance Manager in relation to accounts receivable, water billing systems data while supporting other positions within the financial section.

The position can be located at either Coleambally, Darlington Point or Jerilderie.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Cert III in Accounts Administration and/or experience in accounts receivable.

  • Demonstrated experience with a minimum of five years in finance within local government.

  • Advanced knowledge of the local government act and regulations pertaining to rate management.

  • Demonstrated computing experience, including Microsoft Office suite and financial systems/software.

  • Class C drivers licence.

Desirable Experience/Qualifications 

  • Previous recent experience in local government or other government entities

  • Cert IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping

  • Diploma of Accounting

This position is graded at a Band 2 Level 1 Grade 7 in the Murrumbidgee Council salary system, which ranges between $56,518 and $68,745 subject to qualifications, skills and experience, within the salary step progression of the position.

Building Maintenance Supervisor

This position is located at our Darlington Point depot.

Mechanic

We have an exciting career opportunity for an energetic and capable mechanic.  The Mechanic will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, and repairing Council’s vehicles, heavy plant, and other equipment to minimise downtime and enable the optimal utilisation of plant and equipment.

The servicing of plant may occur in ouncil depots and/or in the field subject to operational requirements.

This position is located at our Darlington Point Depot.

Senior Technical Officer

Murrumbidgee Council is located in the southern area of the Riverina region of New South Wales and includes the towns of Coleambally, Darlington Point, Jerilderie and surrounds.

The organisation has a challenging career opportunity for an energetic and capable Senior Technical Officer. This position exists to provide a high-quality level of contract administration for road projects and routine work funded through the Road Maintenance Council Contract (RMCC) with the Transport for NSW (TfNSW) of NSW and subcontractors.

This position provides administrative support to the Infrastructure section so that the necessary contract operations and services are carried out efficiently and effectively. Other duties will be associated with providing administrative support for various engineering projects.

This position can be located at either Coleambally, Darlington Point or Jerilderie Office.

  • Tertiary qualifications (Diploma or recent Degree Graduate) in Civil Engineering, Civil Construction, or equivalent experience with TfNSW / RMCC (Road Maintenance Council Contract), demonstrated experience in a similar role (3+ years).

  • Sound literacy, numeracy, and computer skills in order to complete required documentation and use relevant technical software.

  • Sound knowledge of Contract Administration and/or Civil Engineering Construction preferably applicable to the local government context, with the demonstrated ability to effectively apply this knowledge.

  • Possess and maintains a current class ‘C’ Drivers licence

  • New South Wales Construction Induction Certificate (White Card);

  • New South Wales Traffic Management Certification in Prepare a Work Zone Traffic Management Plan

  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the principles and legislative requirements of Work Health and Safety (WH&S).

  • Manual Handling Training

  • Ability to perform manual tasks with dexterity, including general construction, machine operation, and fit to undertake the duties outlined in this position description, safely.

  • Australian resident or equivalent or holding a Visa allowing employment in Australia.

PLANT OPERATORS - 12 month fixed contract

We have opportunities for Plant Operators (full-time) to join our multi skilled team on a 12 month fixed contract. If you have skills in plant machinery, trucks, graders, loaders, rollers, concreting or carpentry, they will be highly valued and we encourage you to apply.

Plant Operators undertake duties in the areas of parks and gardens, construction, maintenance of Council’s infrastructure and TfNSW projects. Suitable applicants will need recent work experience, demonstrated experience, with competent written and communication skills.

Senior Administration Assistant to the Director of Infrastructure

The organisation has a challenging career opportunity for an energetic and capable Senior Administration Assistant to provide executive administrative support to the Director Infrastructure, Infrastructure leadership team and their respective functions, facilitating the efficient and effective operation of the organisation.  Infrastructure Department includes the functions of Engineering; Fleet Management & Plant, Equipment; Roads and Streets; Town Services; Parks and Recreational Facilities; Water and Sewer.

Qualifications/Licences

  • Certificate IV in Business Administration or Certificate IV in Local Government or equivalent in a similar role.

  • Hold and maintain current Class C drivers licence

Experience

  • Minimum of five years in office management, including experience in a personal assistant role to executive management

  • Extensive experience using Microsoft Office suite to produce a range of documents including correspondence, reports and spreadsheets and database entry

  • Demonstrated competence with using the Microsoft Office suite of programs

  • Well-developed capability to use computer-based systems
