Street Stalls

Council is required to monitor and control the use of street stalls and other activities conducted by community organisations for fund raising activities to ensure everyone has an equal opportunity throughout the year to fundraise and/or promote their activities. Council also has an obligation to the public to control activities held in public places or areas under the control or management of Council.  These areas are defined in Council’s Community Land Management Plan.  
 
All fundraising activities in public places require prior approval from Council and the following conditions apply:-


1.  Street Stalls for Raffle tickets sales: 
  a.    For Jerilderie : Only at entrance to IGA supermarket;
  b.    Table must be used only for the purposes of selling raffle tickets.
  c.    No food, products to be sold or displayed at this location;
  d.    Organisations are permitted to use a table and chairs positioned,                                  
      i.    so as not to obstruct the use of the footpath, 
     ii.    not to obstruct lines of sight, 
     iii.    not to obstruct  doorways and the like and 
     iv.    shall not affect the pedestrian traffic movement and safety.   

2.Street Stalls for sale of produce
  a.    For Jerilderie: Only on the southern side of Jerilderie Street at the front of the premises known as 32 Jerilderie Street.
  b.    Table must be used only for the purposes of selling produce.
  c.    Organisations are permitted to use a table and chairs positioned,
     i.    so as not to obstruct the use of the footpath,
     ii.    not to obstruct lines of sight,
     iii.    not to obstruct  doorways and the like and
     iv.    shall not affect the pedestrian traffic movement and safety.   

3.  Each not for profit organisation or community group shall be granted three (3) street stall bookings per annum for either raffle sales and/or the sale of products. 

4. Further stalls may be granted if the dates requested are available.  In the event of two or more groups wanting the same date, the date will be awarded by ballot conducted by the General Manager. 

5. Prior to the application for a street stall being processed, Council must be in receipt of the organisation’s current certificate of currency for public liability insurance.
