Dog Walking Areas
At Council, we recognise the wonderful part our four legged friends play in our lives and society. There are many places where you can enjoy a walk with your dog.
Off-Leash Areas
There are off-leash areas available in each of the three towns within the Murrumbidgee Council area.
You'll find off-leash areas at:
Coleambally: At the end of Kookaburra Avenue - forest area
Darlington Point: The second oval at the Recreation Reserve, King Street
Jerilderie: Around the Jerilderie Lake from Bundoora Avenue to the Playground area - as signposted
Conditions of using these off-leash areas are:
- Restricted breeds or dogs declared dangerous or menacing are not allowed in off-leash areas;
- Pick up and dispose of your dog's waste;
- The person with the dog is required to ensure the dog does not attack, harass or chase any person or animal. This means that the dog must be controlled so that other users of the area are not affected.
- Council staff will patrol off-leash areas and enforce the regulations.
Pick up your dog's waste!
You'll find dog waste bag dispensers at these locations:
Coleambally: Curlew Park, Skate Park (along the walking track) and Coleambally Lions Park
Darlington Point: CWA Park, Lions Park, Fig Tree Park and Adrian Douglas Park
Jerilderie: Jerilderie Lake Walking Track, Luke Park and RSL Park
Always have a bag with you, just in case there's none available. Dispose of your dog's waste properly.
