Australia Day

Murrumbidgee Council proudly celebrates Australia Day, with celebrations held at each of the three towns.

Each year the Australia Day Council invites Local Government to participate in Australia Day activities.

It particularly encourages Councils to participate in the Citizenship Awards, which are offered by the Australia Day Council for the purpose of recognising outstanding contributions to the local community.

Murrumbidgee Council participates in the presentation of Citizenship Awards, with Coleambally, Darlington Point and Jerilderie, each hosting individual Award Ceremonies.

Nominations from organisations and/or individuals are now being sought for these Awards for Coleambally and Darlington Point. Jerilderie's nominations are now closed.

All nominations are strictly confidential.  All nominees must be residents of Murrumbidgee Council.

Nomination forms and additional information on individual community awards   (including nomination closing dates) are available from Council offices at Darlington Point and Coleambally and are also available by clicking on the appropriate town below.
