Australia Day

Murrumbidgee Council proudly celebrates Australia Day, with celebrations held at each of the three towns.

Each year the Australia Day Council invites Local Government to participate in Australia Day activities.

It particularly encourages Councils to participate in the Citizenship Awards, which are offered by the Australia Day Council for the purpose of recognising outstanding contributions to the local community.

Murrumbidgee Council participates in the presentation of Citizenship Awards, with Coleambally, Darlington Point and Jerilderie, each hosting individual Award Ceremonies.

Nominations from organisations and/or individuals are usually sought from October each year.
