Problem waste

We have Community Recycling Centres (CRC) located in our council area where common household problem waste that can’t go in kerbside bins can be dropped off.  There is no charge to drop off these waste items.

Accepted at Coleambally Waste Depot and Jerilderie Waste Depots

  • paint
  • gas bottles
  • fire extinguishers
  • motor oils
  • other oils
  • car batteries
  • household batteries

  • Household batteries: standard batteries which are designed to be inserted or removed from a product. These may include AA, AAA, C, D, button batteries and rechargeable lithium batteries that can be easily removed from products such as power tools (up to 20 kg each). To safely dispose of your loose batteries: Tape the terminals with clear, sticky tape to reduce the risk of fire; keep them safe in a ventilated, glass container (ie for smaller batteries); drop them off at your nearest location. More information. Please note: Embedded batteries (ie that are not easily detached from the item) are not currently accepted.

Household quantities of these materials will be accepted. As a guide, this is a maximum container of 20 litres or 20 kilograms for each waste type.
