Street Stalls

Council is required to monitor and control the use of street stalls and other activities conducted by community organisations for fund raising activities to ensure everyone has an equal opportunity throughout the year to fundraise and/or promote their activities. Council also has an obligation to the public to control activities held in public places or areas under the control or management of Council.  These areas are defined in Council’s Community Land Management Plan.

All fundraising activities in public places require prior approval from Council and the following conditions apply:
  • Each not for profit organisation or community group shall be granted three street stall bookings per year for either raffle sales and/or the sale of products.
  • Further stalls may be granted if the dates requested are available. In the event of two or more groups wanting the same date, the date will be awarded by ballot conducted by the General Manager.
  • Prior to the application for a street stall being processed, Council must be in receipt of the organisation’s current certificate of currency for public liability insurance.
