Council Meetings and Getting Involved In Council
Local Government is the tier of Government that is closest to the people. As such, it offers many opportunities for local residents to become involved in it, either in the decision making process or in a more practical hands-on role.
Standing for Council
Any ratepayer who is interested in standing for election at the next Local Government Elections may be interested in the joint publication from the Department of Local Government, Shire Association and Local Government Association "Becoming a Councillor" which is available on the Departments' website. www.dlg.nsw.gov.au
Council Meetings
These are held on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 10.00am (excluding October, December and January). Contact Council for details.
All members of the public are welcome to attend these meetings. If you do so, you will have a better understanding of Council's decision making process.
Chat With A Councillor
You can arrange to talk with the Mayor or one of the Councillors about any issue that may be of concern to you.
They are your elected representatives and they're always happy to listen to your concerns.
