Waste & Recycling
Local domestic recycling rates are well below state averages. Recycling rates for Commercial & Industrial and Construction & Demolition wastes are also falling well short of state waste recovery targets. In addition, the landfills are filling too fast: at current levels of disposal local tips will be full in less than 20 years.
'Halve Waste - reduce, reuse, recycle' is a public awareness and education campaign developed to engage the whole community in efforts to reduce waste and increase recycling in the region.
