Pool Set to Close for Another Year
27 March 2017 - Media Release
Swim season is drawing to a close in the Murrumbidgee Council area.
Council advises that the Darlington Point Pool closed from Monday 20 March.
The Jerilderie Swimming Pool is now scheduled to close on Sunday 2 April, while the Coleambally Swimming Pool will close on Tuesday 25 April.
Murrumbidgee Council General Manager, Craig Moffitt, said it had been a good season, with attendance numbers up overall.
“The weather this summer resulted in a good season in terms of attendance figures at Council's pools this year,” he said.
“The record-breaking temperatures we had in December and January led to good numbers using all three pools.
“We had a few teething problems at the start but it was a real team effort by Murrumbidgee Council staff and contractors, who worked really well together to keep the three pools running smoothly.”
The three Council pools will reopen again in November 2017.
