Jerilderie's Got Talent

The red carpet was rolled out in Jerilderie last week as Murrumbidgee Council marked the end of seniors’ celebrations in style.

Close to 100 people from across the Local Government Area enjoyed Jerilderie’s Got Talent Luncheon on Friday, 31 March.

Administrator Austin Evans said this, and two other events held in Darlington Point earlier in March, was part of the NSW Seniors Festival.

“It’s important that we celebrate the enormous contribution seniors make to the local community,” Mr Evans said.

“We have an ageing population so it’s important that we continue to consider them and remember how valuable they are to our communities.

“I’m really pleased to hear that we had residents from our other towns attend this event too.”

During the celebration, held at the Jerilderie Civic Hall, performer Ray Macartney proved a big hit. His sing-alongs and trivia questions kept the enthusiastic crowd entertained throughout.

Council wishes to thank St Joseph's School Council for providing the delicious morning tea and lunch.
