Town Planning Workshops for Darlington Point

Murrumbidgee Council will host public workshops later this month where Darlington Point residents can have input into the proposed plan for the town.

The two workshops will take place on Tuesday, 30 May at the Darlington Point Club.

A daytime session will be held from 2pm to 4pm and an evening session will run from 7pm to 9pm.

Residents will be able to participate in roundtable discussions with a panel of Council’s senior staff, Local Representation Committee (LRC) members and consultants.

It is important to register to attend the workshops, this will ensure that venues are adequate to meet the needs of attendee numbers. To register contact Murrumbidgee Council’s Darlington Point Branch Office on (02) 6960 5500.

The final draft of the plan will go on public exhibition from Wednesday, 17 May for a period of 28 days.

Murrumbidgee Council, General Manager Craig Moffitt, said the workshops would be an ideal opportunity for interested community members to offer feedback.

“The last meeting was extremely fruitful with some valuable input provided,” Mr Moffitt said.

“It’s important to Council that the community’s vision for future development is considered.”

Earlier this year Council engaged consultants Habitat Planning to prepare a Township Structure Plan that will guide the future development and use of land within Darlington Point for the next 20 years and beyond.  It is the result of a motion from the previous Murrumbidgee Shire that was approved in April 2016.

These workshops will be the second set of public meetings, with the first held in February this year.
