Australia Day

Murrumbidgee Council celebrates Australia Day widely, with celebrations held at each of the three communities.

Each year the Australia Day Council invites Local Government to participate in Australia Day activities.

It particularly encourages Councils to participate in the Citizenship Awards, which  are offered by the Australia Day Council for the purpose of recognising outstanding contributions to the local community.

Murrumbidgee Council will once again participate in the presentation of Citizenship Awards, with each of its three communities of Jerilderie, Darlington Point and Coleambally to host individual Award Ceremonies.

Nominations from organisations and/or individuals are now being sought for these Awards.

All nominations are strictly confidential.  All nominees must be residents of Murrumbidgee Council.

Nomination forms and additional information on individual community awards   (including nomination closing dates) are available from Council offices at Jerilderie, Darlington Point and Coleambally and will also be available on the website soon.
